The back of card number 283 in the set reads, "Walt Dubiel Pitcher - Chicago Cubs Born: Hartford, Conn., Feb. 12, 1920 Height: 6 ft Weight: 195 Bats: Right Throws: Right In 39 games in 1950, winning 6, while losing 10. Began in organized baseball in 1941. Worked way up Yankee chain. Had a 16-9 record for Newark in 1943. Called up by the Yanks for 1944. Had a 13-13 record that year. Won 10, and lost 9 for the Bombers in 1945. With Newark and Seattle the next 2 seasons. With the Phillies in 1948 campaign. Traded to Cubs after close of the season.
