A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Clint Hartung. The back of card number 37 in the set reads, "37 - Clint Hartung Pitcher - New York Giants Born : Hondo, Texas Aug. 10, 1922 Bats : Right Throws : Right Height : 6 : 4 Weight : 215 Clint's first year in Organized Baseball was with Minneapolis in the American Association in 1942. He appeared in 3 games - wasn't involved in a decision, and was sent to Eau Claire of Northern League where he won 3 and lost 1. The next 4 seasons he was in service, where he pitched in 25 games and lost none during one season, batted .561 and hit 30 homers. Last year he came to Giants, started in outfield and was finally made a full time pitcher. He appeared in 23 games, racked up a 9-7 record.
