A 1986 Card Collectors 1950 Bowman (Reprint) baseball card of Hank Borowy. The back of card number 177 in the set reads, "Hank Borowy Pitcher - Philadelphia Phillies Born : Bloomfield, N. J., May 12, 1916 Height : 6 ft. Weight : 175 Bats : Right Throws : Right Hank had an even 12-12 record for the 1949 Phillies. Began in organized baseball with the Yanks' Newark farm in 1939. Brought up to the Stadium in 1942. That year Hank appeared in 25 games for the Bronx Bombers, winning 15 and losing 4. The Cubs bought his contract in 1945 for $97,000. At end of 1948, traded to Phillies. No. 177 in the 1950 Series of Baseball Picture Cards Reprint © 1950 Bowman Gum, Inc., Phila., Pa., U.S.A." A circular Bowman logo is in the upper right corner. Text on the outside of the circle reads," Picture Card Collectors Club", and inside reads, "5 Star Bowman Series". Five stars are connected by their points and form a pentagon in the middle.
