A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Ralph Kiner. The back of card number 3 in the set reads, "3 - Ralph Kiner Outfielder - Pittsburgh Pirates Born : Santa Rita, N. M. 1922 Bats : Right Throws : Right Height : 6 : 1 1/2 Weight : 190 He is already being called another "Babe Ruth." His amazing clouting drove out 51 home runs last year, to tie Johnny Mize. In 1946, he also led the National League in home runs. Second players since 1900 to do this as a rookie. He joined the Pirates in 1943 but, due to Uncle Sam's prior claim on his time, it was not until 1946 that he appeared in a game for the Pirates.
