A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Rex Barney. The back of card number 41 in the set reads, "41 - Rex Barney Pitcher - Brooklyn Dodgers Born : Omaha, Neb. Dec. 19, 1924 Bats : Right Throws : Right Height : 6 : 3 Weight : 185 Entered OB when 18. He started with Durham in Piedmont League, won 4, lost 6. His blazing speed moved him up to Montreal in the INternational League where he lost 1 ball game, winning none. The Dodgers then picked him up and he finished his first year in baseball in the major leagues - with a 2-2 record for the Dodgers. The following two seasons were spent in service. He rejoined Dodgers in 1946 and won 2 while losing 5. The following year he reversed the record, making it 5-2. He is one of major's best pitching prospects.
