A 1986 Card Collectors 1950 Bowman (Reprint) baseball card of Jack Banta. The back of card number 74 in the set reads, "Jack Banta Pitcher - Brooklyn Dodgers Born : Hutchinson, Kan., June 24, 1925 Height : 6-2 1/2 Weight : 175 Bats : Left Throws : Right Began in organized baseball with Newport News, 1944. But most of career has been with the Montreal Royals. Led the International League in strikeouts, 1947 and 1948. Tried out briefly at Brooklyn in those same years. Became a full-fledged member of Burt Shotton's Dodgers, 1949. Released to the Royals, June, 1950, on 24-hour recall. No. 224 in the 1950 Series of Baseball Picture Cards Reprint © 1950 Bowman Gum, Inc., Phila., Pa., U.S.A." A circular Bowman logo is in the upper right corner. Text on the outside of the circle reads," Picture Card Collectors Club", and inside reads, "5 Star Bowman Series". Five stars are connected by their points and form a pentagon in the middle.
