The back of card number 61 in the set reads, "Jim Hearn Pitcher - New York Giants Born: Atlanta, Ga., April 11, 1923 Height: 6-3 Weight: 205 Bats: Right Throws: Right Jim had been with the Cardinals for parts of 4 major-league campaigns. Nothing much went right. Jim's control was bad, and his earned run average was high. After 6 games for the Cards in 1950 he went by the waiver route to the New York Giants, with whom he found himself. Wound up season with 11 wins, 4 losses and best NL earned run average (2.49).
