The back of card number 73 in the set reads, "Tommy Byrne Pitcher - New York Yankees Born: Baltimore, Md., Dec. 31, 1919 Height: 6-1 Weight: 182 Bats: Left Throws: Left Gave up 160 bases on balls in 1950 - the most in the League. Yet had the excellent win-lose record of 15-9. Began in organized baseball in 1940 with Yankees' Newark farm team. Joined parent club for 1943 after compiling a record of 17-4 to lead the International League in winning percentage (.810). In service next 3 years. With Yanks, 1946, and since end of 1947.
