The back of card number 18 in the set reads, "Gil Coan Outfield - Washington Senators Born: Monroe, N.C., May 18, 1924 Height: 6 ft. Weight: 180 Bats: Left Throws: Right Last year was Gil's best season in the majors. He batted .303 in 104 games. His 111 hits drove 50 tallies across the plate. Gil's career with the Senators covers 1946, and from 1948 to the present time. In 1945 Gil hit .372 for Chattanooga, Southern Association, and led the League in most other departments of play.
