A color slide of a 1952 Red Man tobacco baseball card of Ted Williams. Card number AL 23 shows an illustration of Williams from the chest up. He is wearing a Boston Red Sox cap and is smiling at the camera, resting a baseball bat on his left shoulder. The mini-biography on the card reads, "Ted Williams Outfield Boston Red Sox Born San Diego, Cal., Oct. 30, '18 Height: 6-3 Weight: 190 Bats: Left Throws: Right One of the greatest ball-players baseball has known. Since he joined the Red Sox in 1939, Ted has established many hitting records. One of his outstanding feats was batting .406 in 1941. He was in 148 games for the 1951 Sox, hitting .318. He had 30 home runs and 126 runs batted in to his credit. Probably lost to the Sox for 1952, since he has been recalled by Marine Corps."
