Ted Williams Advertisement for Lucky Strike Cigarettes
Description
A color slide of an advertisement for Lucky Strike Cigarettes. Ted Williams is shown on the left side of the advertisement wearing a red flannel shirt and smiling with a cigarette hanging out the left side of his mouth. On the right side of the advertisement are three smaller black-and-white photographs of Williams wearing a porkpie hat: two showing him fishing and a third showing him smiling and holding a cigarette. Below the three photographs is a color image of a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes. The advertisement appeared on the back cover of the New York Giants’ 1954 World Series program when they faced the Cleveland Indians. The actual photo is from a reproduction of the program produced by Robert D. Opie, Publisher. The reproduction is copyrighted 1986 by RDO/Publications, Santa Clara, California, as Volume 56 of The Great World Series Program Collection. Information written on the physical slide reads, "Ted Williams Lucky Strike Ad.” See willite01_25 for a similar image.
