Ted Williams 1941 Play Ball Baseball Card Photograph

Description

A color slide of a 1941 Play Ball baseball card of Ted Williams from the book Classic Baseball Cards: The golden years 1886-1956. Card number 14 in the set shows an illustration of Williams depicting him from the chest up. He is wearing a Boston Red Sox cap, looking straight ahead and smiling. The bottom of the card is labeled "Ted" Williams." Below the Williams card is the upper one-fourth of card number 17, depicting Roy "Stormy" Weatherly of the Cleveland Indians. Above the Williams card is the bottom portion of card number 11, which featured Debs Garms of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Play Ball set was produced by Gum, Inc. The images have narrower borders around the photographs and more subdued colors than the actual cards. See willite01_75, and willite01_141.
