Babe Ruth Cover on the World Newspaper

Description

A slide of a color front-page of The World newspaper for April 10, 1927, depicting Babe Ruth in action. The cover is an illustration of Ruth starting to run after batting. He wears a New York Yankees home uniform and hat. He faces forward, and he starts to run out of the batter's box. His left leg crosses in front of his right, and both feet are off the ground. His left hand holds the bat diagonally to the left and toward the ground. His right is at his side. His full face is visible, and his eyes look to the left. Players cheer in the dugout in the background to his left, and three players stand and cheer outside the dugout to his right. In the far background, fans fill the stadium. In the top left of the paper are the words, "COLOR GRAVURE SECTION." In the top center are the words The World in script with the paper's logo in between them. In the far right top corner are the words "NEW YORK Sunday, April 10, 1927." At the bottom, underneath the drawing of Ruth, are lines of text.
