This summer we’ll head to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, on June 25-29, 2025, for the 53rd SABR convention. SABR 53 will feature a Texas-sized speaker lineup we know you’ll love, alongside an invigorated social experience emphasizing SABR’s ability to unite all of us in baseball fellowship.
The Westin DFW Airport is conveniently located three miles away from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, with a free 24/7 hotel shuttle, and a short drive from Globe Life Field and many other area attractions. The Texas Rangers will host a weekend series against the Seattle Mariners during SABR 53. The SABR 53 convention logo, which pays homage to the scoreboard at Arlington Stadium, was created by acclaimed sports graphic designer Todd Radom.
If you’ve never attended a SABR convention, this is the perfect year to join us and make new baseball friendships. If you’re a veteran attendee, we can’t wait for you to experience our rejuvenated convention experience. It will be an incredible week of baseball fellowship in the heart of Texas and we hope you’ll make plans to be part of it!

Regular Registration + optional events
SABR members and non-members who wish to purchase registration and/or tickets to optional sessions can do so at the following rates:
Registration
Includes access to all panel discussions, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Westin DFW Airport, plus the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, Coffee Talks on Thursday/Friday, and Closing Ceremonies on Saturday. Please note all registrations are a la carte and attendees will need to select tickets for all optional events or merchandise they would like when they register.
- SABR members: $285 before April 25; $315 regular rate
- Non-members: $335 before April 25; $365 regular rate
Please note: Full and single-day registration will also be available for purchase on-site at the Westin DFW Airport during the convention. (Tickets to optional events and SABR 53 merchandise must be ordered in advance.) All baseball fans are welcome to attend.
Optional Events
You also have the option of purchasing tickets for the following optional events when you register:
Frisco RoughRiders game on Thursday, June 26
Join us on Thursday, June 26 for a minor league game between the Frisco RoughRiders and Tulsa Drillers (Los Angeles Dodgers’ Double-A affiliate) at Riders Field in Frisco, Texas. Your SABR game ticket also includes roundtrip bus transportation from the Westin DFW Airport hotel.
SABR has reserved a block of tickets in Section 104 (third-base side) for all attendees:
- 1 Frisco RoughRiders game ticket: $45 (includes roundtrip bus transportation)
The buses for the RoughRiders game will depart from the hotel at 6:00 p.m. Thursday and return after the end of the ballgame.
How to pick up your game ticket: You will be able to redeem your game ticket at the registration desk using the chit system. If you do not care with whom you sit, you should turn your chit into your game ticket right away at the hotel. But if you want to sit with a friend, first make sure you have tickets in the same section — the SABR registration desk will not accept exchanges in different sections after you make your purchase — and then wait to turn in your chits at the same time, thereby getting tickets next to one another.

Globe Life Field ballpark tour on Friday, June 27
- Please note: You MUST buy a Rangers game ticket from SABR in order to attend the ballpark tour. Select the “Rangers ticket AND Globe Life Field Tour with bus transportation” option during registration. All SABR buses will return to the hotel after the end of the ballgame.
Join us on the afternoon of Friday, June 27 for a behind-the-scenes ballpark tour of Globe Life Field during SABR 53. Visitors will visit some of Globe Life Field’s premium lounges and spaces while also learning about the rich history of the Texas Rangers and unique architecture of Globe Life Field.
The buses for the ballpark tour will depart from the hotel at 3:00 p.m. Friday and return after the end of the ballgame. Anyone entering Globe Life Field for the afternoon tour will be allowed to stay inside the ballpark for the duration of the game.

Rangers vs. Mariners game on Friday, June 27
Attendees at our SABR 53 convention this summer in Texas will have a special opportunity to visit Globe Life Field for the Texas Rangers game against the Seattle Mariners on the evening of Friday, June 27.
SABR has reserved a block of tickets in the Outfield Mezzanine level in right field (sections 128-133):
- 1 Rangers game ticket: $75 (includes roundtrip bus transportation)
Your SABR game ticket also includes roundtrip bus transportation from the Westin DFW Airport hotel. All SABR buses will return to the hotel after the end of the ballgame.
How to pick up your game ticket: You will be able to redeem your game ticket at the registration desk using the chit system. Single-Day Registration
- Stay tuned for more information about single-day registration for SABR 53. Single-day registration will be available beginning on May 16, 2025.
The single-day registration includes admission to all convention panels, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Westin DFW Airport. It can also be purchased on-site via cash, check, or credit card (sorry, no American Express accepted.) Please note: Admission to the Friends of SABR Donor Dinner, Rangers or RoughRiders games, or Globe Life Field tour are not included.
Hotel information
The special SABR group rate at the Westin DFW Airport of $169/night plus tax (single/double occupancy) is only available to registered convention attendees. Please note: The cut-off date to book your room at the SABR group rate is May 30, 2025. The hotel offers a free 24/7 hotel shuttle to and from Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport; call 972-929-4500 to request the shuttle. Click here for more details on shuttle pickup locations.
- After you register for the SABR 53 convention, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with details on how to book your hotel room at the SABR group rate.
There are a limited number of rooms in our group block, so be sure to register for SABR 53 early!

Avoid the rush at registration, and pre-order your SABR 53 convention logo polo shirt, T-shirt, baseball cap, or lapel pin online! Deadline to pre-order: May 30, 2025. Please indicate shirt size (adult S to XXXL) when you register. Caps are one-size-fit-most. Items will be available to be picked up when you arrive at the SABR convention. We cannot ship any pre-ordered items after the convention. New purchases will not be available on-site; the merch table is for pre-ordered items only.

How to register
In order to make it easier for you to register or add guests/spouses for the convention, here are step-by-step instructions on how to register for SABR 53.
- 1) Click here to go to the SABR Store.
- 2) Fill out your badge information: On the first screen, fill out your badge information, including name, city/state, email address, phone number, whether you are a first-time convention attendee, and any dietary needs/special accommodations. Then click the “Next” button.
- 3) Choose your own registration ticket: You can now add any of our registration items here: choose the Regular Registration rate, and then add any tickets you want for the optional sessions (ballgames and tours).
- 4) Choose any souvenir items: You can also purchase any of our SABR 53 convention logo souvenir items: golf/polo shirt, T-shirt, baseball cap, or lapel pin. When you are finished, select the “Save & Finalize Registration.”
- 5) Checkout (Step 1 of 2): Verify that your registration information is correct and scroll down to fill out your billing information. Then click the “Proceed to Confirmation” button.
- 6) Checkout (Step 2 of 2): If everything on the screen is correct — click “Complete Order”. Your credit card will not be charged until you complete the checkout process.
To add a guest/spouse to the ballgame or tour
If you wish to purchase an additional ballgame or tour ticket for a guest or spouse, here’s how:
- 1) Follow steps 1-4 above. Then select the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button.
- 2) Fill out your guest’s registration information: Fill out your guest’s badge information (Attendee #2), including name, city/state, email address, phone number, number of annual conventions attended and first-time attendee.
- 2) Choose your event tickets:
– To purchase an extra ballgame or tour ticket: click the Select Here to Add Guest button ($0) in the required registration field, then choose your ticket for the Rangers game, Rangers game + Globe Life Field tour, or RoughRiders game. - 3) If you wish to add a third guest (Attendee #3) — click the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button again and repeat this process. When you are ready to check out, click the “Save & Finalize Registration” button.
