SABR 46: Watch/listen to highlights from the How to Do Baseball Research panel

Attendees at SABR 46 in Miami were treated to a special session on “How to Do Baseball Research” on Saturday, July 30, 2016, led by SABR Vice-President Leslie Heaphy with special guests Sean Forman, Bill Nowlin, and Jacob Pomrenke.

This informal Q&A session focused on baseball-oriented techniques and resources that are available to help you improve your research and writing. Whether you are an experienced SABR researcher or a first-time author, you can learn something new about information and tools — both online and off — that can help aid your baseball research.

Heaphy is SABR’s Vice-President, co-chair of the Women in Baseball Research Committee, and co-organizer of the annual Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference. Forman is the president of Sports Reference LLC, the founder of Baseball-Reference.com, and a 2011 recipient of SABR’s Henry Chadwick Award. Nowlin is a prolific Boston Red Sox historian who has served on SABR’s Board of Directors since 2004. Pomrenke is SABR’s Director of Editorial Content and the editor of Scandal on the South Side: The 1919 Chicago White Sox.
