Virtusio: Artist brings Black Sox to life in new Chicago art exhibit

As the 100th anniversary of the 1919 World Series approaches, people can get a closer look at the eight Chicago White Sox players who were accused of throwing the championship.
Thom Ross exhibits “The Black Sox — A Century Later” from June 9-July 21 at Beverly Arts Center’s Simmerling Gallery in Chicago.
The gallery is around 12 miles from where Comiskey Park was, said Thom Ross via phone from his home near Santa Fe, New Mexico, referring to the original home of the White Sox, who now play baseball across the street at Guaranteed Rate Field.
“It could not be more fortuitous that I finally got a show in Chicago at a venue that is so big and is in the heart of White Sox territory.”
