Angelo Louisa

Louisa earned his Ph.D. in Tudor-Stuart English history at the University of Minnesota and taught at various colleges and universities for 24 years, receiving four teaching awards. He has written articles on sports figures and other subjects for books, periodicals, and websites; produced, with Patrick Premo, a fast-action baseball game; edited, with David Cicotello, Forbes Field: Essays and Memories of the Pirates’ Historic Ballpark, 1909-1971 (2007) and Mysteries from Baseball’s Past: Investigations of Nine Unsettled Questions (2010); and authored The Pirates Unraveled: Pittsburgh’s 1926 Season (2015). In addition, he and David Cicotello are the creators and series editors of McFarland Historic Ballparks. A native of southwestern Pennsylvania and a Pittsburgh Pirate fan, Dr. Louisa currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska, with his wife, Pamela.
