Michael McAvoy

Mike graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with an A.B. and a Ph.D., both in Economics. Growing up a life-long Cubs fan, Mike has become a student of the club’s 19th century origins and history. A SABR member since 2013, Mike is a member of the Nineteenth Century Committee and enjoys attending the Frederick Ivor-Campbell Conference. He has collected information on the salaries of the American Association Cincinnati Reds, and has written a paper on the pricing of the baseball cards of players selected for the Hall of Fame.
