2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners announced
NOVEMBER 1, 2026 — The winners for the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, honoring the best individual fielding performances at each position in the American League and National League, were announced during a one-hour special edition of ESPN’s Baseball Tonight on Sunday, November 1.
This year’s Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners represent the best defenders in the game, including 11 previous recipients and nine first-time honorees. Christian Walker and Matt Olson each earned their fourth career Gold Gloves, the highest total among this year’s winners, while the Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks led all teams with three winners each.
The SABR Defensive Index™ is used to help select the winners of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award and Rawlings Platinum Glove Award™, presented by SABR. The SABR Defensive Index accounts for approximately 25 percent of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award selection process which are added to the votes from the managers and coaches of each team.

The SDI is compiled by the SABR Defensive Committee, which includes former SABR Board President Vince Gennaro; Sean Forman of Baseball-Reference.com; Joe Rosales of Sports Info Solutions; author and defensive metrics expert Chris Dial; author Michael Humphreys; and Tom Tango of Major League Baseball.
To identify the utility award winners, Rawlings collaborated with SABR to create a specialized defensive formula separate from the traditional selection process for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award position winners. Utilizing the SABR formula and additional defensive statistics, Rawlings selected one utility winner from each league.

Vote for Rawlings Platinum Glove Award winners
Fans can vote now for the Rawlings Platinum Glove Award, presented by SABR, from now through 11:59 PM Eastern on Thursday, November 5. The Rawlings Platinum Glove Award winners will be unveiled at the Rawlings Gold Glove Award Ceremony on Friday, November 6 in New York City.
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and San Diego Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. won their respective league’s Rawlings Platinum Glove Award last season.
