2025 SABR Analytics Conference

Congratulations to Hannah Keyser, Richard Staff, Justin Klugh, and Patrick Dubuque, winners of the 2025 SABR Analytics Conference Research Awards. They were recognized in an awards ceremony during the SABR Analytics Conference on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Keyser was voted as the winner of the Contemporary Baseball Analysis Award for her article “The DH Is Universal, But Good DHs Are Rare,” published by The Ringer on March 29, 2024.

Staff was voted as the winner of the Contemporary Baseball Commentary Award for his article “The Minor League Shrink And The Growing Gap Between Triple-A And The Bigs,” published by Defector on August 27, 2024.

Klugh was voted as the winner of the Historical Baseball Analysis/Commentary Award for his article “Every Streak Is A Part Of History,” published by Baseball Prospectus on July 11, 2024.

Dubuque was voted as the winner of the John Dewan Defensive Analytics Award for his article “Does Catcher Framing Bounce Back?”, published by Baseball Prospectus on June 14, 2024.

The SABR Analytics Conference Research Awards recognize baseball researchers who have completed the best work of original analysis or commentary during the preceding calendar year.



Voting for the winners was conducted online from February 3-14, 2025, at SABR.org, BaseballProspectus.com, FanGraphs.com, and IBWAA.com, with results weighted equally at 25%.
