Lewis: Glass family agrees to sell Royals

Ned Yost swiveled in his office chair a few days ago and looked above the cabinet shelves. The Royals manager scanned the wall lined with picture frames that foster memories. Each moment is a favorite for those within these walls and beyond: shouldering Gatorade baths, spending time with family, speaking to his players. But one moment means and has meant the most. Yost pointed up at the photo in the middle, one of Royals owner David Glass holding the 2015 World Series trophy.
“The happiest time was when he got to hold the trophy right there,” Yost said. “That was the happiest time. We had done it.”
This particular moment followed an afternoon when The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Jayson Stark had reported Glass was discussing the sale of the club to a group led by Kansas City businessman and Cleveland Indians vice-chairman John Sherman. Yost, though, did not want to speak of the potential sale or the implications.
