Scott Rolen elected to Baseball Hall of Fame in 2023
JANUARY 24, 2023 — Scott Rolen, a seven-time All-Star third baseman with the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Toronto Blue Jays, was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in the Class of 2023.
Rolen received 76.3 percent of the votes cast by the Baseball Writers Association of America, and he will join Fred McGriff, elected by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee, to be honored during Induction Weekend on July 21-24 in Cooperstown, New York.
Rolen was honored with eight Rawlings Gold Glove Awards and the 1997 National League Rookie of the Year Award during his decorated 17-year career, and he helped the St. Louis Cardinals win two NL pennants and the 2006 World Series. Click here to read his SABR biography by Tim Odzer.
