Watch highlights from SABR Luke Easter Chapter ‘Hot Stove Talks’

From Ryan Brecker at the SABR Luke Easter Chapter on June 1, 2017:

You can now watch video highlights from our chapter’s most recent Hot Stove Talks event on April 1, 2017, at the Rochester Central Library’s Kate Gleason Auditorium. We heard from four different presentations; here was the lineup:

  • Tony Brancato, “Bringing the Deadball to Life: Researching Rochester’s Live Oak Base Ball Club of the 19th Century”
  • Rebecca Edwards, “The Signs of Baseball: The Origin Stories of Umpire’s Gestures”
  • Paul Bielewicz, “Hallowed Grounds – The Baseball Grounds of Rochester, NY”
  • St John Fisher Sports Management Program Diamond Dollars Case Competition Team: Reprising their entry from the SABR Analytics Conference; this year’s case focused on applying data from Baseball Prospectus on Pitch Tunneling in regards to front-office decision making.
Please feel free to share! We’ll be doing our next lecture series this November – please let me know if you have a topic you’d like to present; will be starting to solicit speakers soon.
