Rich Ottone
/in /by Jacob PomrenkeRich Ottone joined SABR in 2018 and is a member of the Babe Ruth Chapter. He resides in Eldersburg, Maryland, with his wife, Susan, who also happens to be a lifelong Orioles fan. They attended an Orioles game on their first date in 1991. Growing up outside of Washington, DC, Rich remembers crying with his mother while listening to the last Senators game on the radio in 1971. He became an Orioles fan but yearned for the day when a team would once again call DC home. Currently the community services supervisor for the Carroll County Bureau of Aging and Disabilities, Rich has spent most of his professional career helping adults with intellectual and physical disabilities realize fuller lives. Among other things, it meant sharing his love for baseball by arranging and accompanying the people he supported to attend Orioles, Nationals, Frederick Keys, and Bowie Baysox games. Besides baseball, Rich enjoys listening to blues music and attending live shows with his wife and son.
