This summer we’ll head to Cleveland, Ohio for our 54th annual convention on July 29-August 2, 2026, at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown hotel. SABR 54 will deliver a truly Major League speaker lineup, alongside an engaging social experience that celebrates SABR’s unique ability to bring our passionate baseball community together.
The Hilton Cleveland Downtown hotel includes a top-floor bar above Cleveland’s skyline with views of Lake Erie and it is conveniently located near many restaurants and attractions on East 4th Street. The hotel is also a short walk from Progressive Field, where the Cleveland Guardians will host a weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The SABR 54 convention logo was created by acclaimed sports graphic designer and SABR member Todd Radom.
Whether you’re attending your first SABR convention or returning as a longtime regular, this is a great year to be part of the experience. Newcomers will find plenty of opportunities to connect and build baseball friendships, while veteran attendees can look forward to a richly layered event. It promises to be an unforgettable week of baseball fellowship in “The Land,” and we hope you’ll join us!

Regular Registration + optional events
SABR members and non-members who wish to purchase registration and/or tickets to optional sessions can do so at the following rates:
Registration
Includes access to all panel discussions, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, plus the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, Coffee Talks on Thursday/Friday, and Closing Ceremonies on Saturday. Please note all registrations are a la carte and attendees will need to select tickets for all optional events or merchandise they would like when they register.
- SABR members: $295 before May 29; $325 regular rate
- Non-members: $345 before May 29; $375 regular rate
Please note: Full and single-day registration will also be available for purchase on-site at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown during the convention. (Tickets to optional events and SABR 54 merchandise must be ordered in advance.) All baseball fans are welcome to attend.
Optional Events

Cleveland Baseball History bus tour on Thursday, July 30
Join us on the afternoon of Thursday, July 30 for a behind-the-scenes bus tour of Cleveland baseball’s history. The tour will include roundtrip bus transportation to: League Park, featuring on-field access, a visit to the Baseball Heritage Museum, and “Baseball Art as the Game’s Storyteller” art exhibit; Rocky Colavito statue with a guided talk from author Joe Gazzo; Ray Chapman gravesite at Lake View Cemetery with a guided talk from author Scott Longert.
The buses for the tour will depart from the hotel at 3:45 p.m. Thursday and return to the hotel at approximately 6:00 p.m.
- Cleveland Baseball History bus tour ticket: $40 (includes roundtrip transportation)
Guardians vs. Diamondbacks game on Friday, July 31
Attendees at our SABR 54 convention this summer will have a special opportunity to visit Progressive Field for the Cleveland Guardians game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the evening of Friday, July 31.
All SABR members will gather in the Paul Davis Pennant District for an all-you-can-eat pregame buffet menu that includes beef hamburgers, veggie burgers, Kosher hot dogs, pretzel bites, potato chips, popcorn, mac ‘n cheese, baked beans, cookies, and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages; food served from the time gates open at 5:00 p.m. until one hour after scheduled first pitch.
Note: Tickets in the Upper Box Outfield seating option are adjacent to the pregame buffet space in the Paul Davis Pennant District. Tickets in the Lower Box seating option are NOT adjacent to the pregame buffet space. Attendees selecting the Lower Box option will enjoy the buffet in the Paul Davis Pennant District with the full SABR group before moving to their seats for the game.
SABR has reserved two blocks of tickets:
- Upper Box Outfield game ticket: $80 (includes pregame buffet)
- Lower Box—Right Field Line game ticket: $90 (includes pregame buffet)

How to pick up your game ticket: You will be able to redeem your game ticket at the registration desk using the chit system. If you do not care with whom you sit, you should turn your chit into your game ticket right away at the hotel. But if you want to sit with a friend, first make sure you have tickets in the same section — the SABR registration desk will not accept exchanges in different sections after you make your purchase — and then wait to turn in your chits at the same time, thereby getting tickets next to one another.

Single-Day Registration
Stay tuned for more information on single-day registration, which can be purchased online in advance or on-site during convention registration hours at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland hotel.
The single-day registration includes admission to all convention panels, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland. It can also be purchased on-site via cash, check, or credit card (sorry, no American Express accepted.) Please note: Admission to the Friends of SABR Donor Dinner, Guardians game, or Cleveland Baseball History bus tour are not included.
Hotel information
The special SABR group rate at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown of $235/night plus tax (single/double occupancy) is only available to registered convention attendees. Please note: The cut-off date to book your room at the SABR group rate is July 8, 2026.
- After you register for the SABR 54 convention, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with details on how to book your hotel room at the SABR group rate.
There are a limited number of rooms in our group block, so be sure to register for SABR 54 early!

Avoid the rush at registration, and pre-order your SABR 54 convention logo polo shirt, T-shirt, baseball cap, or lapel pin online! Deadline to pre-order: July 3, 2026. Please indicate shirt size (adult S to XXXL) when you register. Caps are one-size-fit-most. Items will be available to be picked up when you arrive at the SABR convention. We cannot ship any pre-ordered items after the convention. New purchases will not be available on-site; the merch table is for pre-ordered items only.
To guarantee that you get a SABR 54 convention logo shirt, cap, or lapel pin, please place your order online by July 3, 2026.
How to register
In order to make it easier for you to register or add guests/spouses for the convention, here are step-by-step instructions on how to register for SABR 54.
- 1) Click here to go to the SABR Store.
- 2) Fill out your badge information: On the first screen, fill out your badge information, including name, city/state, email address, phone number, whether you are a first-time convention attendee, and any dietary needs/special accommodations. Then click the “Next” button.
- 3) Choose your own registration ticket: You can now add any of our registration items here: choose the Regular Registration rate, and then add any tickets you want for the optional sessions (ballgames and tours).
- 4) Choose any souvenir items: You can also purchase any of our SABR 54 convention logo souvenir items: golf/polo shirt, T-shirt, baseball cap, or lapel pin. When you are finished, select the “Save & Finalize Registration.”
- 5) Checkout (Step 1 of 2): Verify that your registration information is correct and scroll down to fill out your billing information. Then click the “Proceed to Confirmation” button.
- 6) Checkout (Step 2 of 2): If everything on the screen is correct — click “Complete Order”. Your credit card will not be charged until you complete the checkout process.
To add a guest/spouse to the ballgame or tour
If you wish to purchase an additional ballgame or tour ticket for a guest or spouse, here’s how:
- 1) Follow steps 1-4 above. Then select the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button.
- 2) Fill out your guest’s registration information: Fill out your guest’s badge information (Attendee #2), including name, city/state, email address, phone number, number of annual conventions attended and first-time attendee.
- 2) Choose your event tickets:
– To purchase an extra ballgame or tour ticket: click the Select Here to Add Guest button ($0) in the required registration field, then choose your ticket for the Guardians game or bus tour. - 3) If you wish to add a third guest (Attendee #3) — click the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button again and repeat this process. When you are ready to check out, click the “Save & Finalize Registration” button.
