SABR, University of Nebraska Press to Partner for Six-Book Series
SABR and the University of Nebraska Press will continue their longstanding partnership through a new six-book series, “The Memorable Teams in Baseball History.”
The books, written by SABR members as part of the Baseball Biography Project, will focus on iconic teams with an unquestionable legacy in baseball history. Each book will collect essays detailing the players, moments, and games that define these teams. The essays will bring together contributions of many SABR writers and devoted fans who share passions for these teams and wish to relive those memorable seasons.
The University of Nebraska Press plans to publish the series’ first two books in the spring of 2012. They are:
- The Team That Forever Changed Baseball and America: The 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers, edited by Lyle Spatz
- Pitching, Defense, and Three-Run Homers: The 1970 Baltimore Orioles, edited by Mark Armour
The Baseball Biography Project was formed in 2002. Its purpose is to solicit, write, edit and maintain high-quality journal-length biographies of every player who ever played in the major leagues, as well as any other person connected with baseball in a significant way. All biographies are written by members of the Society for American Baseball Research.
