All-Inclusive Package
We’re again offering an All-Inclusive Package in 2023 for the annual SABR convention. SABR members can pay $339 for the All-Inclusive Package and non-members can pay $399.

For this special discounted price, you will receive:
- Full registration to SABR 51 in Chicago (regular registration: $299 for SABR members or $369 for non-members)
- 1 seated ticket in the Lower Box Corners (sections 109-112) to the White Sox vs. Cardinals game on Friday, July 7 at Guaranteed Rate Park ($38 value)
- 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, July 8 ($90 value)
- 1 ticket to the Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening, July 5
- 1 exclusive lapel pin with the SABR 51 convention logo
The deadline to register with the All-Inclusive Package is Monday, June 5, 2023.

Registration
Includes access to all panel discussions, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, plus the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, July 5.
- SABR members: $299
- Non-members: $369
Please note: Full registration will be available on-site at the Palmer House Hilton during the convention. All baseball fans are welcome to attend.

Awards Luncheon on Saturday, July 8
SABR will host a special Awards Luncheon on Saturday, July 8 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. The Awards Luncheon, which includes a plated meal, will feature the announcement of SABR’s annual awards — including the Bob Davids Award, our highest honor.
- Awards Luncheon ticket: $90
Please select your meal choice — Herbed Chicken Breast, Blackened Salmon, Portobello Mushroom Ravioli, or Kosher ($25 extra) — when you register. Meals include entree and sides, salad, dessert, iced tea/coffee. The Kosher meal will come from an outside Kosher kitchen. If you have any other special dietary considerations, please contact events@sabr.org.
Chicago Historic Ballpark Sites Bus Tour on Saturday, July 8
Sign up now for our Chicago Historic Ballpark Sites Bus Tour to see unique sites that hosted professional and semi-professional baseball in the city for the past 150 years.
- Please note: The Historic Ballparks Bus Tour is now sold out!
The guided bus tour is scheduled for 4:15-6:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 8. Tickets are $30 per person. Space is limited.
This bus tour will leave from the Palmer House Hotel in downtown Chicago and will include drive-bys and stops at sites that may include, but are not limited to, West Side Park, West Side Grounds, Twenty-Third Street Grounds, Excelsior Park, Union Grounds, and Prairie Grounds. Participants will all receive a handout with maps and details about the sites being visited.
White Sox vs. Cardinals game on Friday, July 7
Attendees at our SABR 51 convention this summer in Chicago will have a special opportunity to visit Guaranteed Rate Field for the Chicago White Sox game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, July 7.
Please note: Our block of White Sox game tickets is no longer available. You can purchase a game ticket on your own by visiting whitesox.com/tickets.
SABR has reserved a block of tickets in the Lower Box Corners (sections 109-112):
- 1 Lower Box Corners game ticket: $38
Transportation: CTA southbound trains run approximately every 6-8 minutes from the Monroe Red Line station next to the convention hotel (exit onto State Street, on the west side of the hotel, for the Red Line station.) The stop for Guaranteed Rate Field is at 35th Street. To return to the hotel, take the Red Line train north (toward Howard) back to the Monroe station. How to pick up your game ticket: You will be able to redeem your game ticket at the registration desk using the chit system. If you do not care with whom you sit, you should turn your chit into your game ticket right away at the hotel. But if you want to sit with a friend, first make sure you have tickets in the same section — the SABR registration desk will not accept exchanges in different sections after you make your purchase — and then wait to turn in your chits at the same time, thereby getting tickets next to one another.
Single-Day Registration
Single-day registration for SABR 51 can be purchased on-site during convention registration hours. The single-day rate is as follows:
- Thursday, July 6: $135 for SABR members; $165 for non-members
- Friday, July 7: $135 for SABR members; $165 for non-members
- Saturday, July 8: $135 for SABR members; $165 for non-members
The single-day registration includes admission to all convention panels, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Palmer House Hilton. It can be purchased on-site via cash, check, or credit card (sorry, no American Express accepted.) Please note: Admission to the SABR 51 Awards Luncheon, the Friends of SABR Donor Breakfast, Historic Ballparks Bus Tour, and the White Sox game are not included.
Hotel information
The special SABR group rate at the Palmer House Hilton of $224/night plus tax (single/double occupancy) is only available to registered convention attendees. Please note: The cut-off date to book your room at the SABR group rate is Friday, June 9, 2023.
- After you register for the SABR 51 convention, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with details on how to book your hotel room at the SABR group rate.
There are a limited number of rooms in our group block, so be sure to register for SABR 51 early!
Pre-order your SABR 51 convention logo shirts or caps online

Avoid the rush at registration, and pre-order your SABR 51 convention logo polo shirt, T-shirt, or baseball cap online! Deadline to pre-order: June 5, 2023. Please indicate shirt size (adult S to XXXL) when you register. Items will be available to be picked up when you arrive at the SABR convention. (Sorry, we cannot mail out any pre-ordered items after the convention.) Caps are one-size-fit-most.

How to register
In order to make it easier for you to register or add guests/spouses for the convention, here are step-by-step instructions on how to register for SABR 51.
Please note that the All-Inclusive Package does include 1 full registration; 1 ticket to the Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening, July 5; 1 ticket to the White Sox vs. Cardinals game on Friday, July 7; 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, July 8; and 1 exclusive lapel pin with the SABR 51 convention logo.
- 1) Click here to go to the SABR Store.
- 2) Fill out your badge information: On the first screen, fill out your badge information, including name, city/state, email address, phone number, whether you are a first-time convention attendee, and any dietary needs/special accommodations. Then click the “Next” button.
- 3) Choose your own registration ticket: You can now add any of our registration items here: choose between the All-Inclusive Package or A La Carte registration rate, or add any extra tickets you want for the Awards Luncheon*, or the White Sox game ticket*.
* Reminder: 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon and 1 White Sox game ticket is already included in the All-Inclusive Package. - 4) Choose any souvenir items: You can also purchase any of our SABR 51 convention logo souvenir items: golf/polo shirt, T-shirt, or baseball cap. When you are finished, select the “Save & Finalize Registration.”
- 5) Checkout (Step 1 of 2): Verify that your registration information is correct and scroll down to fill out your billing information. Then click the “Proceed to Confirmation” button.
- 6) Checkout (Step 2 of 2): If everything on the screen is correct — click “Complete Order”. Your credit card will not be charged until you complete the checkout process.
To add a guest/spouse to luncheon or ballgame
Please note that the All-Inclusive Package already does include 1 full registration; 1 ticket to the Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening, July 5; 1 ticket to the White Sox vs. Cardinals game on Friday, July 7; 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, July 8; and 1 exclusive lapel pin with the SABR 51 convention logo.
If you wish to purchase an additional ballgame or Awards Luncheon ticket for a guest or spouse, here’s how:
- 1) Follow steps 1-4 above. Then select the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button.
- 2) Fill out your guest’s registration information: Fill out your guest’s badge information (Attendee #2), including name, city/state, email address, phone number, number of annual conventions attended and first-time attendee.
- 2) Choose your event tickets:
– To add a guest for the luncheon or to purchase an extra White Sox game ticket: click the Select Here to Add Guest button ($0) in the required registration field, then choose your ticket for the Awards Luncheon* or the White Sox game*.
* Reminder: 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon and 1 White Sox game ticket is already included in the All-Inclusive Package. - 3) If you wish to add a third guest (Attendee #3) — click the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button again and repeat this process. When you are ready to check out, click the “Save & Finalize Registration” button.
