Bob Connery

Bob Connery

Bob Connery was Miller Huggins’s Cardinals and Yankees scout (1913–1924), as well as Huggins’s closest friend. After the 1924 season, Connery wanted to travel less and move into ownership of a ball club. He bought the St. Paul Saints and was both the face of the franchise and the man who ran it. He maintained a close working relationship with his former employer, the New York Yankees. (COURTESY OF STEVE STEINBERG)
