Edwin Fernandez Cruz

Edwin Fernández Cruz was born in New York City and grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A banker and a computer professional in his other life, he is now a baseball historian and a sportswriter, former President of the Sports Journalists Association in Puerto Rico and co-author of JONRON, a book on the Latin and Caribbean players in the Major Leagues. At present, he is a member of the International Press Association (AIPS America) Board of Directors and member of the Selection Committee of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame. He joined SABR in 1999 and is a former Chairman of the Latino Baseball Committee and founder of the Puerto Rico Chapter. Also, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Sports Hall of Fame.
