Robert Trumpbour

Robert Trumpbour is associate professor of communications at Penn State Altoona. His 2016 book with Kenneth Womack, The Eighth Wonder of the World: The Life of Houston’s Iconic Astrodome, won SABR’s Seymour Medal for the best book of baseball history or biography. He is the author and editor of The New Cathedrals: Politics and Media in the History of Stadium Construction and Cathedrals of Sport: The Rise of Stadiums in the Modern United States. He has taught at Pennsylvania State University, Southern Illinois University, Saint Francis University, and Western Illinois University. Prior to teaching, Trumpbour worked in various capacities at CBS for the television and radio networks in New York. He initially joined SABR in 1999.
