SABR Founders’ Day Award

The SABR Founders’ Day Award, established in 2024, recognizes a SABR member who has contributed significant or enduring service as a leader of a regional chapter or research committee.
It is awarded in conjunction with the annual Founders’ Day celebration held to honor the organization’s first meeting on August 10, 1971, at the National Baseball Hall of Fame Library in Cooperstown, New York.
Tom Hufford (above), one of the 16 founding members of SABR, was honored with the first award.
