SABR 52 will be distinct from its predecessors, as it will feature a Hall of Fame speaker lineup we know you’ll love, and will be the most accessible and social experience we’ve ever organized as we emphasize SABR’s ability to unite all of us in baseball fellowship.
The upgraded Welcome Reception, presented by Baseball-Reference.com, on Wednesday, August 7 will feature SABR award presentations. The Closing Ceremony on Saturday, August 10 will feature additional SABR award presentations along with a revamped Trivia Contest format, including a new “Immaculate Feud” element and expanded opportunities for participation. We’ll also have new social gatherings, including coffee talks on Thursday and Friday morning, as well as a pre-Twins game happy hour on Friday evening.
Our streamlined registration options below provide for a consistent and accessible experience for all attendees, and the lowest registration price since 2018. If you’ve never attended a SABR convention, this is the perfect year to join us and make new baseball friendships. If you’re a veteran attendee, we can’t wait for you to take part in this invigorated convention experience!

Regular Registration + optional events
SABR members and non-members who wish to purchase registration and/or tickets to optional sessions can do so at the following rates:
Registration
Includes access to all panel discussions, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, plus the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, Coffee Talks on Thursday/Friday, Happy Hour on Friday, and Closing Ceremony on Saturday. Please note all registrations are a la carte and attendees will need to select tickets for all optional events or merchandise they would like when they register.
- SABR members: $265 before June 7; $295 regular rate
- Non-members: $335 before June 7; $365 regular rate
Please note: Full and single-day registration will be available for purchase on-site at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis during the convention. (Tickets to optional events and SABR 52 merchandise must be ordered in advance.) All baseball fans are welcome to attend.
Optional Events
You also have the option of purchasing tickets for the following optional events when you register:
St. Paul Saints game on Thursday, August 8
Join us on Thursday, August 8 for a minor league game between the St. Paul Saints and Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Guardians’ Triple-A affiliate) at CHS Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. Your SABR game ticket also includes roundtrip bus transportation from the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis hotel.
Please note: This event is happening at the same time as the Target Field ballpark tour on Thursday evening. Attendees should only choose one Thursday optional event if interested.
SABR has reserved a block of tickets in Section 117 for all attendees:
- 1 St. Paul Saints game ticket: $30 (includes bus transportation)
Target Field ballpark tour on Thursday, August 8
Join us on the evening of Thursday, August 8 for a behind-the-scenes ballpark tour of Target Field during SABR 52. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Minnesota baseball and vibrant atmosphere of this award-winning ballpark with a private tour that allows guests to experience the ballpark while learning about the history of Target Field and the Minnesota Twins.
Please note: This event is happening at the same time as the St. Paul Saints game on Thursday evening. Attendees should only choose one Thursday optional event if interested.

Twins vs. Guardians game on Friday, August 9
Attendees at our SABR 52 convention this summer in Minneapolis will have a special opportunity to visit Target Field for the Minnesota Twins game against the Cleveland Guardians on the evening of Friday, August 9.
SABR has reserved a block of tickets in the Diamond Box and Field Box levels in the left field corner (sections 124-127):
- 1 Diamond Box or Field Box game ticket: $42
How to pick up your game ticket: You will be able to redeem your game ticket at the registration desk using the chit system. If you do not care with whom you sit, you should turn your chit into your game ticket right away at the hotel. But if you want to sit with a friend, first make sure you have tickets in the same section — the SABR registration desk will not accept exchanges in different sections after you make your purchase — and then wait to turn in your chits at the same time, thereby getting tickets next to one another.
Single-Day Registration
Stay tuned for more information about single-day registration for SABR 52. Single-day registration will be available beginning on July 7, 2024.
The single-day registration includes admission to all convention panels, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. It can also be purchased on-site via cash, check, or credit card (sorry, no American Express accepted.) Please note: Admission to the Friends of SABR Donor Breakfast, Twins or Saints games, or Target Field tour are not included.
Hotel information
The special SABR group rate at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis of $219/night plus tax (single/double occupancy) is only available to registered convention attendees. Please note: The cut-off date to book your room at the SABR group rate is Friday, July 5, 2024.
- After you register for the SABR 52 convention, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with details on how to book your hotel room at the SABR group rate.
There are a limited number of rooms in our group block, so be sure to register for SABR 52 early!

Avoid the rush at registration, and pre-order your SABR 52 convention logo polo shirt, T-shirt, baseball cap, or lapel pin online! Deadline to pre-order: July 5, 2024. Please indicate shirt size (adult S to XXXL) when you register. Caps are one-size-fit-most. Items will be available to be picked up when you arrive at the SABR convention. We cannot ship any pre-ordered items after the convention. New purchases will not be available on-site; the merch table is for pre-ordered items only.

How to register
In order to make it easier for you to register or add guests/spouses for the convention, here are step-by-step instructions on how to register for SABR 52.
- 1) Click here to go to the SABR Store.
- 2) Fill out your badge information: On the first screen, fill out your badge information, including name, city/state, email address, phone number, whether you are a first-time convention attendee, and any dietary needs/special accommodations. Then click the “Next” button.
- 3) Choose your own registration ticket: You can now add any of our registration items here: choose the Regular Registration rate, and then add any tickets you want for the optional sessions (ballgames and tours).
- 4) Choose any souvenir items: You can also purchase any of our SABR 52 convention logo souvenir items: golf/polo shirt, T-shirt, baseball cap, or lapel pin. When you are finished, select the “Save & Finalize Registration.”
- 5) Checkout (Step 1 of 2): Verify that your registration information is correct and scroll down to fill out your billing information. Then click the “Proceed to Confirmation” button.
- 6) Checkout (Step 2 of 2): If everything on the screen is correct — click “Complete Order”. Your credit card will not be charged until you complete the checkout process.
To add a guest/spouse to the ballgame or tour
If you wish to purchase an additional ballgame or tour ticket for a guest or spouse, here’s how:
- 1) Follow steps 1-4 above. Then select the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button.
- 2) Fill out your guest’s registration information: Fill out your guest’s badge information (Attendee #2), including name, city/state, email address, phone number, number of annual conventions attended and first-time attendee.
- 2) Choose your event tickets:
– To purchase an extra ballgame or tour ticket: click the Select Here to Add Guest button ($0) in the required registration field, then choose your ticket for the Twins game, Saints game, or Target Field tour. - 3) If you wish to add a third guest (Attendee #3) — click the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button again and repeat this process. When you are ready to check out, click the “Save & Finalize Registration” button.
