Frederick Ivor-Campbell 19th Century Base Ball Conference

The 17th annual SABR Frederick Ivor-Campbell 19th Century Base Ball Conference will be held on April 24-25, 2026, at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. All baseball fans are welcome to attend this special event.

The 2026 conference will be highlighted by a keynote address from author Bruce Allardice, along with a panel discussion on the evolution of early playing fields with Irwin Chusid, Thomas Gilbert, Jonathan Popovich, and moderator Bill Ryczek; a 19th-century artifact session with Robert Mayer, Gary Passamonte, and Jonathan Popovich; a Member Spotlight interview of Herm Krabbenhoft by Dave Newman; plus research presentations.

  • Registration: Registration is now sold out! If you wish to add your name to a waiting list in case a spot opens up, please contact Peter Mancuso.
  • Cost: Conference registration is $75 per person. Tickets for the optional Friday evening Welcoming Dinner ($70) at the Upstate Bar and Grill can also be purchased in advance for you or a guest. Lunch on Friday and Saturday is on your own in “America’s Perfect Village” of Cooperstown.
  • Welcome Dinner: Friday’s optional dinner from 7:00-10:00 p.m. will take place at the Upstate Bar and Grill, 5418 NY Route 28, about 1 mile south of Cooperstown. Cash bar and buffet dinner. Limited to first 70 people to register.
