Tom Hawthorn

Hawthorn’s most recent book is The Year Canadians Lost Their Minds and Found Their Country: The Centennial of 1967 (Vancouver: Douglas & McIntyre, 2017). He served as archival researcher for the 2003 National Film Board documentary Sleeping Tigers: The Asahi Baseball Story. He is an honorary member of Havana’s Peña Deportivo. Born in Winnipeg, he moved to Montréal as a boy, and used earnings from two paper routes to attend Montréal Expos games at Jarry Park.
