SABR 53: Transportation Tips
SABR 53 will be held June 25-29, 2025, at the Westin DFW Airport hotel in Irving, Texas. All baseball fans are welcome to attend.

Members of the host Banks-Bragan DFW Chapter have compiled a list of transportation tips to help visitors and convention attendees enjoy their stay in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. If you have any questions during your stay, please don’t hesitate to ask a friendly SABR 53 volunteer for assistance.
With the most affordable convention hotel rate in years, our host hotel at the Westin DFW Airport is conveniently located three miles away from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, with a free 24/7 hotel shuttle, and a short drive from Globe Life Field and many other area attractions.
Directions to the hotel
The Westin DFW Airport Hotel is located at 4545 W. John Carpenter Freeway, Irving, TX 75063.

Driving from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
Distance: 3.2 miles west from the hotel
Get on TX-97 Spur and head north toward International Service Rd./N. Service Rd. Turn right onto International Service Rd. Use the left lane to take the ramp to Terminals/Hyatt Hotels. Merge onto TX-97 Spur. Use the right 2 lanes to merge onto TX-114 E toward Irving/Downtown Dallas and drive 2.2 miles. Take the exit toward Esters Blvd. Use the left lane to merge onto W. John Carpenter Freeway. Turn left onto Esters Blvd. Pass the frontage road stoplight and turn left at the second stoplight into the Westin DFW Airport hotel.
Driving from Love Field Airport (DAL)
Distance: 14.2 miles east from the hotel
From the Love Field terminal, follow signs for I-35E. Merge in the right lane toward I-35E/Mockingbird Lane. Take Mockingbird Lane 2.2 miles to I-35E. Turn right onto I-35E North. Follow I-35E N for 2.8 miles and take Exit 436A for Loop 12/Spur 348/Northwest Hwy. Turn left onto TX-348 and continue for 3.4 miles. Stay in the left two lanes to merge onto TX-114 W toward the DFW Airport. Continue for 4.3 miles and take the exit toward Esters Blvd. Turn right onto Esters Blvd. Pass the frontage road stoplight and turn left at the second stoplight into the Westin DFW Airport hotel.
Taxi/rideshare
From DFW Airport, follow signage for Ground Transportation on the lower level curbside of each terminal. Look for the orange Shared Ride signs or yellow Taxi signs. A shared ride or cab is an average $25 fare available from the airport to the Westin DFW Airport hotel. Please plan for about 20 minutes of travel time. Click here for more information.
Public transit
There are three public transit options available at DFW Airport. DART primarily services to Dallas and TEXrail primarily services to Fort Worth, while TRE connects services between the two major cities. Click here for more information.
Parking at or near the hotel
The Westin DFW Airport offers on-site self-parking for $20 daily or $7 hourly rates.
Directions to the Rangers game
Globe Life Field is located at 734 Stadium Drive, Arlington, TX 76011.
- Please note: If you purchased a ballpark tour or Rangers game ticket in the SABR block, you will receive a bus chit in your registration packet that is good for roundtrip transportation to and from Globe Life Field on Friday. Buses will depart from the hotel at 3:00 p.m. (for the ballpark tour) or 6:00 p.m. (for the ballgame) and return after the end of the game.
Directions: From the Westin hotel, turn right on Esters Blvd. Go past the overpass and turn left to merge onto TX-114 E. Follow TX-114 E for 1.6 miles and take the exit to go south on President George Bush Turnpike. Continue south on the turnpike for 12.4 miles and take the exit for I-30 W toward Fort Worth. After 2.3 miles, take Exit 29 S for Ballpark Way. Continue straight and follow the signs for Ballpark Way. Turn left onto Ballpark Way and continue straight to Globe Life Field.
Parking: If you are driving by car, Globe Life Field parking lots open 2 1/2 hours before the game. Parking can be purchased in advance or upon entry for $25-45. Click here for more information and a parking map.
Taxi/rideshare: Uber and Lyft rides are available to Globe Life Field for approximately $25-30 one-way from the Westin hotel. The rideshare pickup zone is located at the Chatman Cutoff just east of the stadium, as marked on the Rangers parking map. After Globe Life Field events, pickups will not be allowed on Randol Mill Road.

Directions to the RoughRiders game
Riders Field is located at 7300 Rough Riders Trail, Frisco, TX 75034.
- Please note: If you purchased a Frisco RoughRiders game ticket in the SABR block, you will receive a bus chit in your registration packet that is good for roundtrip transportation to and from Riders Field on Thursday. Buses will depart from the hotel at 5:45 p.m. and return after the end of the game.
Directions: From the Westin hotel, turn right on Esters Blvd. Turn right to merge onto TX-114 W. Follow TX-114 W for 1.1 miles and take the exit to go north on TX-121. Continue north on TX-121 for about 17 miles and exit at Dallas Parkway. Turn left on Dallas Parkway and go 0.4 miles. Turn right on Diamond Drive to enter the Riders Field parking lot.
Parking: If you are driving by car, Riders Field parking lots open 2 hours before the game. Parking can be purchased upon entry for $10. Click here for more information and a parking map.

Getting around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex
Irving’s location in between Dallas and Fort Worth and proximity to almost every major freeway in the Dallas-Fort Worth area makes it one of the easiest cities to navigate and visit in the United States. Several highways wind their way through the city, making travel a breeze in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Taxis/rideshares: Click here for a list of local cab companies from Visit Irving. Cabs usually can be hailed directly from the airports, hotels, in the Las Colinas Urban Center, in Dallas, and in Fort Worth.
Public transit: Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) operates local and express buses serving Irving, Dallas, and other areas in the Metroplex. Click here for a DART station map. The DFW Airport Station is the closest station to the Westin hotel. Generally, buses run every 30 minutes in peak hours and every 60 minutes during off-peak hours. Passes can be purchased at DFW Airport Station kiosks or by mobile at the GoPass app (iPhone and Android smartphones only.) The Orange Line light rail system servicing the Irving area also travels to DFW Airport, Love Field Airport, downtown Dallas, the Dallas Arts District, North Dallas, and Plano.
Rail: The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) connects the downtown areas of Dallas and Fort Worth, with stops in Irving and DFW Airport. Trains operate Monday through Saturday and regional day passes are available. There is no scheduled service on Sundays.
