This cosmopolitan, history-packed strip on downtown Michigan Avenue between the Michigan Avenue Bridge and Oak Street leads you from department stores to multi-story megamalls to luxury boutiques to brand name retail chains – all in a row. By Bus #146: Fare: $2.25 (adult) – $1.10 (children 6-11 yrs old)
- Exit our State Street Entrance & turn left.
- Walk to the corner, cross the street (Adams) and stand in front of the Bank of America & board Bus #146.
- Put exact change into the machine or swipe your fare card at the machine.
- Exit anywhere along Michigan Avenue (The Magnificent Mile).
To Return:
- On the west side of Michigan Avenue, board southbound Bus #151 (Union Station). Put exact change into the machine or swipe your transit card at the machine.
- Exit at Wabash / Adams, walk to the corner (Wabash) & turn right.
- Walk under the train tracks (McDonalds will be on the left) for ½ block to the hotel.
or
- On Michigan Avenue board Bus #146 (Museum Campus).
- Exit at Monroe / State, the hotel will be on your left.
By Red Line Train (Subway): Fare: $2.25 (adult) – $1.10 (children 6-11 yrs old)
- Exit our State Street Entrance & turn left.
- Enter the Red Line Subway & put (exact fare) or use your credit card to purchase the transit card. Please ask the agent for a child’s transit card.
- Swipe the card at the turnstile
- Walk down stairs and board Red Line “Howard” Train (Northbound) and exit at Chicago Ave.
- Walk upstairs to Chicago Ave. and walk east on Chicago (McDonalds will be on your left) for approx. 3 bocks to Michigan Avenue. Shopping will be both North & South of the intersection of Chicago & Michigan Avenues.
To Return:
- At Chicago / State enter the Red Line Station.
- Put exact change or use your credit card to purchase the transit card. Please ask the agent for a child’s transit card.
- Swipe the card at the turnstile and walk downstairs.
- Board Red Line “Dan Ryan / 95th” Train & exit at Monroe Street.
Walking:
- Exit our Monroe Street Entrance, turn right & walk 1½ blocks east to Michigan Avenue.
- At Michigan, turn left and walk north crossing the bridge. The Magnificent Mile begins once you cross the bridge at Wacker and extends north to Oak Street.
