Harry Schoger
/in /by adminHarry Schoger counts his blessings that in his lifetime, he has seen both the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians win a World Series. In the latter case (1948) he was a ten-year old fifth grader in Anderson, Indiana, when the series pitted the Indians vs the Boston Braves. His teacher, Mr. Sluder, brought a radio to class so the students could listen to the broadcasts of the games with Mel Allen and Jim Britt on the mike. As the series unfolded he adopted the Indians as his team.
