All-Inclusive Package

We’re again offering an All-Inclusive Package in 2019 for the annual SABR convention. SABR members can pay $369 for the All-Inclusive Package and non-members can pay $399.

For this special discounted price, you will receive:

Full registration to SABR 49 in San Diego (regular registration: $289 for SABR members or $320 for non-members)
1 ticket in the Upper Infield Reserved (1B) section to the Padres vs. Cardinals game on Friday, June 28 at Petco Park ($24 value)
1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon on Friday, June 28 ($70 value)

Awards Luncheon on Friday, June 28

SABR will host a special Awards Luncheon on Friday, June 28 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. The Awards Luncheon, which includes a meal, will feature the announcement of SABR’s annual awards — including the Bob Davids Award, our highest honor.

Awards Luncheon ticket: $70

Padres vs. Cardinals game on Friday, June 28

Attendees at our SABR 49 convention this summer in San Diego will have a special opportunity to visit Petco Park for the San Diego Padres’ game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, June 28. Click here for a seating map at Padres.com.

Please note: Our block of Padres game tickets is no longer available. You can purchase a game ticket on your own by visiting Padres.com/tickets.

SABR has reserved a block of tickets in the Upper Infield Reserved (1B) section (#309-311):

Upper Infield Reserved (1B) section game ticket: $20 for members; $25 for non-members

Transportation: Petco Park is within walking distance (0.7 miles) of our SABR 49 convention hotel. After exiting the Grand Hyatt, cross the street/railroad tracks into the Gaslamp Quarter and immediately turn right on Harbor Drive. Continue for a half-mile east down the promenade and turn left on 5th Street. Turn right on K or L Streets to reach the main entrance to the ballpark near the Western Metal Supply Company building.

How to pick up your game ticket: You will be able to redeem your game ticket at the registration desk using the chit system. If you do not care with whom you sit, you should turn your chit into your game ticket right away at the hotel. But if you want to sit with a friend, first make sure you have tickets in the same section — the SABR registration desk will not accept exchanges in different sections after you make your purchase — and then wait to turn in your chits at the same time, thereby getting tickets next to one another.

Single-Day Registration

Single-day registration for SABR 49 can be purchased online by clicking here or on-site during convention registration hours. The single-day rate is as follows:

Thursday, June 27: $179 for SABR members, $209 non-members
Friday, June 28: $179 for SABR members, $209 non-members
Saturday, June 29: $179 for SABR members, $209 non-members

The single-day registration includes admission to all convention panels, research presentations, and committee meetings at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. It can be purchased on-site via cash, check, or credit card (sorry, no American Express accepted.) Please note: Admission to the SABR 49 Awards Luncheon, the Friends of SABR Breakfast, and the Padres game are not included.

The San Diego Central Library’s Sullivan Family Baseball Research Center, just a few blocks away, is home to the spectacular SABR Collection curated by our host chapter, the San Diego Ted Williams Chapter.

How to register

In order to make it easier for you to register or add guests/spouses for the convention, here are step-by-step instructions on how to register for SABR 49.

Please note that the All-Inclusive Package does include 1 full registration; 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon on Friday, June 28; 1 ticket to the Padres vs. Cardinals game on Friday, June 28; 1 exclusive lapel pin with the SABR 49 convention logo; and 2 complimentary Continental breakfasts on Thursday and Friday mornings.

1) Click here to go to the SABR Store.
2) Fill out your badge information: On the first screen, fill out your badge information, including name, city/state, email address, phone number, whether you are a first-time convention attendee, and any dietary needs/special accommodations. Then click the “Next” button.
3) Choose your own registration ticket: You can now add any of our registration items here: choose between the All-Inclusive Package or A La Carte registration rate, or add any extra tickets you want for the Awards Luncheon* or the Padres game ticket*.
* Reminder: 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon and 1 Padres game ticket is already included in the All-Inclusive Package.
4) Choose any souvenir items: You can also purchase any of our SABR 49 convention logo souvenir items: golf/polo shirt, T-shirt, or baseball cap. When you are finished, select the “Save & Finalize Registration.”
5) Checkout (Step 1 of 2): Verify that your registration information is correct and scroll down to fill out your billing information. Then click the “Proceed to Confirmation” button.
6) Checkout (Step 2 of 2): If everything on the screen is correct — click “Complete Order”. Your credit card will not be charged until you complete the checkout process.

To add a guest/spouse to banquet or ballgame

Please note that the All-Inclusive Package already does include 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon, 1 ticket to the Padres vs. Cardinals game on Friday night at Petco Park, 1 exclusive SABR 49 convention logo lapel pin, and 2 complimentary Continental breakfasts on Thursday and Friday mornings.

If you wish to purchase an additional game or Awards Luncheon ticket for a guest or spouse, here’s how:

1) Follow steps 1-4 above. Then select the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button.
2) Fill out your guest’s registration information: Fill out your guest’s badge information (Attendee #2), including name, city/state, email address, phone number, number of annual conventions attended and first-time attendee.
2) Choose your event tickets:
– To add a guest for the banquet or to purchase an extra Padres game ticket: click the Select here button ($0) in the required registration field, then choose your ticket for the Awards Luncheon* or the Padres game*.
* Reminder: 1 ticket to the Awards Luncheon and 1 Padres game ticket is already included in the All-Inclusive Package.
3) If you wish to add a third guest (Attendee #3) — click the “Save & Add Another Attendee” button again and repeat this process. When you are ready to check out, click the “Save & Finalize Registration” button.
