Negro Leagues statistics added to SABR Lahman Baseball Database

For the first time, players, teams, and statistics from the Negro Leagues are now available in SABR’s Lahman Baseball Database.

  • Download the files: The updated Lahman Database with Negro Leagues stats (released October 30, 2025) is now available for download at SABR.org/lahman-database.

The Negro Leagues data, licensed from Seamheads.com, includes major leagues and teams from the late 19th century through the 1948 Negro American and National League seasons. The players and teams included in the database follow recommendations established by SABR’s Negro Leagues Task Force (2021) and Negro Leagues and Teams Special Committee (2024), for seasons where full statistics are available from Seamheads.

Thanks to SABR’s database consultant, Bryan Walko, for his efforts to produce this update. The Lahman Database, created by SABR member Sean Lahman, allows baseball researchers to perform complex queries across the entire history of the game.
