Early registration now open for Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference in Detroit
Early registration is now open for SABR’s annual Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference, which will be held on July 20-23, 2023, at the St. Regis Hotel in Detroit, Michigan. All baseball fans are welcome to attend.

Registration extended for the 2023 SABR Ivor-Campbell 19th Century Conference
The registration period has been extended until March 31 for the 14th annual SABR Frederick Ivor-Campbell 19th Century Base Ball Conference, which will be held on April 28-29, 2023, at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. All baseball fans are welcome to register for this special event.
The 2023 conference will be highlighted by a keynote address from author Jonathan Popovich, along with a panel discussion on baseball’s 19th-century color line with Richard Hershberger, Peter Mancuso, Brian Sheehy, and moderator Bill Ryczek; a 19th-century artifact session with Robert Mayer, Gary Passamonte, and Popovich; a Member Spotlight interview of Robert Mayer by Bob Bailey; plus research presentations and a Sunday morning vintage baseball game at Doubleday Field.

Submissions open for fourth edition of Turnstyle: The SABR Journal of Baseball Arts
Submissions are now being accepted for Volume 4 of Turnstyle: The SABR Journal of Baseball Arts.
All SABR members are encouraged to send along your submission, or your questions, to editors Joanne Hulbert or Jay Hurd before June 30, 2023. We are looking for poetry, memoir, artwork, humor, short fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, and parody. Please keep your Turnstyle submission to 1,500 words or less in order to include as many offerings as possible.

Deadline to submit new project proposals to SABR Editorial Board is April 1
SABR’s Editorial Board welcomes new project proposals from members to be considered for publication through the Digital Library, SABR.org, or any other multimedia formats. We strongly encourage new proposals that involve collaboration between SABR research committees and/or chapters, and web-based projects with an eye toward enhanced multimedia presentation.

Next deadline: April 1, 2023 (for publication in late 2024 or 2025)
SABR seeks to publish 2-4 web-based multimedia projects and 6-8 books per year. Book projects should be of a scope that can fit in a single volume, typically between 100,000 and 200,000 total words.

Call for reviewers: SABR 51 presentation abstracts
Volunteers are needed to blind-review submissions for SABR 51 research presentations. Please contact Neal Traven if you are interested in participating in the review process.
SABR 51 is scheduled for July 5-9, 2023, at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Early registration is now available at SABR.org/convention. (Note: You do not need to be registered for the convention in order to serve as a blind-reviewer.)
