Sandy Koufax (SABR/The Rucker Archive)

Writing opportunity: Contribute to upcoming Sandy Koufax book

SABR has announced a new book project on the life and career of Sandy Koufax. As in our previous books about Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and Roberto Clemente, there will be a mixture of essays and Games Project accounts. We’re aiming for a 2024 publication date. The editors of the book are Marc Z. Aaron, Bill Nowlin, and Glen Sparks.

Many significant Koufax games are already the subjects of Games Project articles, but there are a number of game stories still available. For a list of available essays and games, and any other questions, please contact Bill Nowlin.

1 week left to vote in special election on proposed changes to SABR By-Laws

The SABR Board of Directors recommends adoption of three proposed changes to the By-Laws in a special election that will conclude on Wednesday, March 1.

The changes are intended to increase member participation in SABR governance, add new voices to Board discussion, allow for more turnover in Board membership, and provide safeguards to ensure that the four Officers have some prior Board experience.

An online voting ballot was sent out from tellers@sabr.org to all eligible SABR voters on February 15 and a reminder email was sent on February 22. If you did not receive a ballot, please contact jpomrenke@sabr.org to have it re-sent to your email.
