Neyer is a longtime baseball writer and editor for ESPN.com, SB Nation, and FoxSports.com. He began his career as a research assistant for groundbreaking baseball author Bill James and later worked for STATS, Inc. He has also written or co-written seven baseball books, including The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers (with Bill James), winner of the Sporting News/SABR Baseball Research Award, and most recently Power Ball: Anatomy of a Modern Baseball Game, winner of the 2019 CASEY Award.

Emma Tiedemann (Portland Sea Dogs)This week’s guest is Emma Tiedemann, play-by-play broadcaster with the Portland Sea Dogs. Before joining the Boston Red Sox’ Double-A affiliate in 2021, she spent two seasons behind the microphone for the Lexington Legends and called back-to-back South Atlantic League championships. In 2019, she was honored as the South Atlantic League’s Media Relations Director of the Year. During the offseason, she served as the voice of Morehead State University women’s basketball on ESPN+ and radio. She has also worked for the St. Paul Saints, the Medford Rogues, and the Mat-Su Miners. She graduated from the University of Missouri and is a native of Dallas, Texas.
