Neyer is a longtime baseball writer and editor for ESPN.com, SB Nation, and FoxSports.com. He began his career as a research assistant for groundbreaking baseball author Bill James and later worked for STATS, Inc. He has also written or co-written seven baseball books, including The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers (with Bill James), winner of the Sporting News/SABR Baseball Research Award, and most recently Power Ball: Anatomy of a Modern Baseball Game, winner of the 2019 CASEY Award.

Susan Slusser (SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE)This week’s guest is Susan Slusser, award-winning San Francisco Giants beat writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, where she has covered baseball since 1996. She covered the Oakland A’s full-time from 1999 to 2020 until moving to the Giants beat for the upcoming season. She has been a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America since 1993 and in 2012 became the only woman to be elected president in the organization’s history. She has authored two books, 100 Things A’s Fans Need to Know and Do Before They Die (2014) and If These Walls Could Talk, Tales from the Oakland A’s Dugout, Locker Room and Press Box (2019, with Ken Korach).
