Neyer is a longtime baseball writer and editor for ESPN.com, SB Nation, and FoxSports.com. He began his career as a research assistant for groundbreaking baseball author Bill James and later worked for STATS, Inc. He has also written or co-written seven baseball books, including The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers (with Bill James), winner of the Sporting News/SABR Baseball Research Award, and most recently Power Ball: Anatomy of a Modern Baseball Game, winner of the 2019 CASEY Award.

Sean Aronson (St. Paul Saints)This week’s guest is Sean Aronson, play-by-play broadcaster for the St. Paul Saints since 2007. In 2016 he was awarded the Ballpark Digest Broadcaster of the Year Award and in 2010 he was nominated for a Regional Emmy for Saints TV broadcasts. He worked for the Fort Myers Miracle from 2003 to 2006. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

He was doing it in between cancer treatments for Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Side effects from chemotherapy had made it hard for him to read books, but he could still use his hands. His body was tired, but his mind was desperate for something to quiet its racing thoughts. It was a welcome distraction from the madness that had overtaken his and his wife, Kristi’s, lives.”
