Craig BrownEpisode #244: December 11, 2023

This week, our guest is Craig Brown, founder of the Threads of Our Game website, a visual almanac of 19th-century baseball uniforms with more than 300 original illustrations of what players and teams wore in the 1800s. Highlights on the site include the Black baseball powerhouse Page Fence Giants and the 1894 Baltimore Orioles (the first team to wear a logo on their caps.) Brown is a design and marketing professional living in sunny Georgia, and he serves as programs chair of SABR’s Magnolia Chapter in Atlanta. He was recognized by SABR’s Pictorial History Committee with the George Michael Award in 2018 for significant contributions to the knowledge and understanding of historical baseball imagery.

What’s Rob Reading?

The Catch: A Novel, by Jon WeismanThe Catch: A Novel
By Jon Weisman

“What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.”
